Sailing School, Life School
We have designed the Eolo Project for high school students, a 3-day (or longer) trip. We believe that sailing is not just a way to stay in a group in the midst of nature having fun, but an educational tool for growth, particularly in improving:
SOCIAL SKILLS: among students, showing through action that collaboration can achieve results impossible for an individual. On a boat, everyone has a role, and everyone is indispensable.
ADAPTABILITY: changes in course, wind intensity, technical issues, variations in speed, etc. All of this teaches the importance of flexibility.
TEAM SPIRIT: During boat activities, the team collaborates to achieve a goal. Sailing fosters the ability to listen and communicate effectively using clear maritime language and creates opportunities to resolve conflicts by leveraging the uniqueness of each individual to bring out what is useful for the team.
Why choose Velagiovane?
Velagiovane Srl is a nautical school authorized by the Liguria Region with Managerial Determination No. 492 of 11/10/2006, renewed with Managerial Determination No. 1202 of 24/08/2018. It is a company operating in the Gulf of La Spezia since 1990 in the recreational boating sector.
- We own 8 sailing boats, capable of accommodating up to 90 participants at once. This makes us the only company in the area able to manage large school groups for training experiences without relying on external collaborations or rented boats.
- A strategic and scenic location, a dedicated pier in the wonderful setting of Le Grazie, a Ligurian village with a rich nautical tradition and "port of historic boats." We collaborate with the local Pro Loco to provide quality, truly zero-kilometer meals with authentic, local dishes.
- All our skippers are certified sailing instructors, with extensive sea experience and a proven ability to work with young people. This ensures a professional, safe, and educational approach, essential for a high-quality learning experience.
- The program allows students to learn the basics of sailing, work as a team, and develop practical and relational skills. The trip culminates in a final regatta, where students can put into practice what they've learned and receive a participation certificate as recognition of their effort, with the best crews awarded a medal.
